This web site is designed to introduce you to Restorative Justice Practices through the words
and ideas of our guests and Host, Judge Sophia H. Hall, one of three Presiding Judges in
Illinois Cook County’s Juvenile Court.
Restorative Justice in Action .com is dedicated to the dissemination of information of the various modalities of Restorative Justice Practices. Through the use of video interviews drawn from the archives of a recent Chicago Access Network television show, Restorative Justice in Action we have edited video clips to introduce you to an alternative to our current adversarial system of justice.
Our guests include representatives of the Chicago Public Schools discussing the instillation of RJ practices in the Chicago School System, educators discussing the challenges and success which came of institutionalizing these restorative practices, in various violent hotspots in Chicago and throughout Illinois.
The web site will introduce you to various members of the Chicago City-Wide Restorative Justice Committee, as well as teachers, school administrators, leaders in the varied departments of juvenile justice, social workers, student advocates and community leaders and activists, former offenders, street interventionists and numerous others, working to create alternatives to violence throughout their community.
